About Nourished Minds
A Stronger Foundation for Every Student
Empowering Central Valley learners through personalized support and proven strategies by credentialed educators.

Our Mission
At Nourished Minds Mentorship & Tutoring, our mission is to provide families throughout the Central Valley with high-quality, personalized tutoring led by knowledgeable and credentialed educators.
We believe every student learns differently, so we meet them exactly where they are—identifying academic gaps, understanding individual learning needs, and building instruction around what works for them.
Our goal is simple: to help students become confident, capable, and independent learners.
What Makes Us Different?
California Standards-Aligned
Our instruction is aligned with California State Standards, helping students strengthen the skills that support what they are learning in school.
Meet the Founder
Nour earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from UC Santa Barbara, a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Biology, a Substitute Teaching Credential, and a Master of Arts in Teaching. She has worked in both Modesto City Schools and Ceres Unified School District, gaining valuable experience with students across different schools, grade levels, backgrounds, and learning needs.
Through her experience in public education and private tutoring, Nour has learned that academic success requires more than instruction alone. Students also need encouragement, consistency, accountability, patience, and someone who truly believes in them.

Nour Poles
Founder of Nourished Minds

Nour has had the privilege of tutoring students throughout Modesto. What began as a side job quickly grew into something much greater—a passion for helping students build confidence, overcome academic challenges, and recognize their own potential through the power of learning.
Throughout her career, she has worked with children ages 2–4, K–12 students, college students, and adult learners. Every student learns differently, which is why she believes tutoring should never be one-size-fits-all. Her approach focuses on identifying each student's academic gaps, understanding how they learn best, and creating personalized instruction that meets them exactly where they are.
Why Tutoring Matters?
Building Skills From the Foundation Up
California State Standards are designed to build on one another, year after year. Think of them as building blocks—students need a strong foundation before moving on to more advanced skills.
When a student hasn’t fully mastered skills from a previous grade, they’re still expected to keep up with new material. Over time, those gaps can grow, making learning more frustrating and impacting a student’s confidence.
Tutoring helps identify and close those gaps, strengthen foundational skills, and give students the confidence they need to keep moving forward.
